
On June 3, 2025, a round table was held at the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic with the participation of representatives of the medical colleges of Kara-Balta, the I.K. Akhunbaev Medical College, Tokmok Medical College, Uzgen International Medical College under Osh State University, the President of the Association of Medical Colleges of Kyrgyzstan (AMCK), graduates of the mentioned institutions, representatives of the Ministry of Health, and other stakeholders.
The agenda included discussions on the duration of study and the resumption of admissions after completion of basic secondary education, in connection with the transition to a 12-year general education system. Participants also discussed the implementation of a new educational program aligned with the updated duration of study and other pressing issues related to the reform of secondary medical education.
As a result of the discussions, proposals were developed and submitted to the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic (currently — the Ministry of Science and Innovation) for further consideration.
