The project “Reforming Medical Education in Kyrgyzstan”, together with expert Dr. Brigita Skela Savic, visited pilot medical colleges to evaluate the implementation of the first year of the pilot program in the specialty “Nursing”. They visited medical colleges in Bishkek, Tokmak and Naryn, and also held an online meeting with the medical college and the Uzgen International Medical College of Osh State University.
During the visit of our expert, issues on the current reforms of nursing education were discussed with representatives of the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic, and meetings were held on the results of the quantitative assessment with clinical mentors and teachers. An important part of the visit was meetings with students of the pilot program, where they shared their impressions of clinical practice and the educational process.
The final stage of Dr. Brigita's visit was a presentation of the process and an overall assessment of the pilot program. The presentation presented the results of the assessment and formulated recommendations for the second pilot year.
