On March 27, 2023, a round table was held in Bishkek under the title "The role of practice in training nurses". Participants of the round table discussed the introduction of an experimental program in the specialty "Nursing" and outlined the prospects for the development of nursing education in Kyrgyzstan.
Participants of the round table discussed measures to involve nurses as clinical mentors. The issues of training clinical mentors and mechanisms for obtaining credit hours for mentoring, allowances and workload rates for nursing professionals were also considered.
During the round table, an important issue was also discussed - the initiation and promotion of the concept of applied and academic bachelor's degree, as well as a higher college as a potential provider.
The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic, heads and employees of pilot medical colleges, healthcare organizations and professional educational organizations.
